I love any holiday to celebrate with my kids and create traditions that they will hopefully remember forever and start with their babies one day. It’s the juice of life seeing my kids so excited with just the little things.
Today I’m sharing some fun Easter ideas and traditions I do with my family.

The week before I usually make their lunches using THESE COOKIE CUTTERS. I make their pb+j and then use these cut outs to make their sandwich way more fun. I will make about 10 and freeze for the week in a ziplock bag to pull out and throw in their lunches. This is one little thing you can do that makes such a big difference and adds that wow factor!

I also decorate my chalkboard and add my favorite Easter banners around the house. We have a little bunny that my girls named HOPPY and for years they believe he is the Easter bunnies helper who watches them and hops from place to place. My girls say it’s ok to hold him haha I love their little imaginations and playing it up to make it more fun. I’ve written fun notes from him and made him seem more magic with glitter in random places. That’s been a little thing that my girls look forward to every year as well so we run with it!

I plan out all my fun Easter food ideas and desserts as well. You can see my PINTEREST EASTER BOARD HERE. Food makes any holiday so much fun!

I always do bunny pancakes with a whipped cream tail with fruit and this year we are ordering from CRUST CLUB to make life easier. They deliver and their breakfast pie is out of this world. I also bust out my favorite almond/chocolate croissants from Trader Joe’s.

  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
pour wisked mixture into bowl and toss well

•Yummy potatoes (my moms delicious recipe we beg her to make every year)
  • 1 bag hashbrowns
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • grated cheese
  • crushed cornflakes
  1. In a saucepan, heat butter and soup until melted. add sour cream, onions and cheese.
  2. In a 9x13 pan, spread hash browns on bottom. pour mixture and add more cheese as desired.
  3. Mix crushed cornflakes with 2 TBL butter and add to top of pan.
  4. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes

•Deviled eggs (we dye ours ahead of time so they are colorful!)

I am making a bunny cake this year and a lemon Bundt cake. For the bunny cake, I am just purchasing the cake rounds from my local grocery store and then frosting it myself using my favorite homemade coconut lime frosting. I then add ears using silver/gold pipe cleaners and add flowers around it. My girls love it and it makes everything feel more festive.

  • 1 box lemon cake mix
  • 1 small box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together for 3 minutes on high. pour into a greased bundt pan
  3. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. let sit in pan for 5 minutes, then invert onto a cooling rack.
  1. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, lemon zest and lemon juice and beat on high until creamy.
  2. Scoop frosting into a large ziploc bag and cut a hole in the corner of the bag (or a piping bag with a large round tip)
  3. When the cake is cooled, pipe frosting over the top of the cake. garnish with lemon zest if desired.

Easter Bunny Scavenger Hunt:

I have 9 eggs and write #1-9 on each egg. The egg goes with the number or clue and then I created a key to make my life easier. I hide the eggs according to my key so I don’t have to open the eggs each time and figure out where to rehide the 9 eggs. I don’t have a print out available so here is what you can write down on paper and create this for your kids on easter afternoon once their traditional  easter bunny hunt is over.

#1 Give to child: you can give this to them in whatever creative way you choose or you can have it mysteriously sitting on their breakfast dish or in their easter basket in the morning.
#2 bathtub
#3 kitchen table
#4kids bed
#5 car
#6 kitchen sink
#7 kids clothes
#8 tv
#9 kids dishes

#9 egg leads to the surprise! This could be something you already have like a toy you were planning on giving them anyways, a basket full of their favorite goodies or you can check out one of our families favorite traditions and have THIS BUTTERFLY KIT waiting for them. I love this because the kids can see how a caterpillar builds his cocoon and changes into a butterfly within days. They can see the life cycle through experiment and nothing is cooler than watching your kids see something so magical. We’ve done this with ladybugs too and it’s so much fun to set them free at the end! This year, we are doing something different and just as fun. We are renting two baby bunnies and they will be at the end of the scavenger hunt. I can’t wait to see their reactions as they open the box with the bunnies inside.

#1: Hop to it little bunnies
The fun has just begun
Find your first clue
Where bathing is done

#2: You’re on the right trail
To finding all your eggs
The next clue is hiding
Under something with legs

#3: You are so close
To finding your surprise
Run to the place
Where you close your eyes

#4: The easter bunny is cute
And has oversized ears
Now run to the car
Where you change gears

#5: Speaking of bunnies ears
The insides are usually pink
You’d be wise to go peek
Under the kitchen sink

#6: Bunnies are so soft
And have a twitching nose
The next clue is hiding
Where you keep your clothes

#7: Tricky colorful eggs
Hiding everywhere today
Hop like a bunny to your next clue
Where the movies play

#8: Hippity Hoppity
You’re on the right track
Jump to the place
Where your dishes go back

#9: Smart little bunnies
You found the final clue
An easter surprise is hiding
Where you keep your shoes!

Then wherever they keep their shoes is where the surprise is!

We also read the easter story of Jesus in Matthew and watch LDS CONFERENCE to remember the true meaning of Easter Sunday. Family all comes over and it’s a special day. I can’t wait to spend it with those I love the most and make this holiday so magical.
How do you celebrate?

I have read your blog and find this blogs very inetersting because as I am expecting twin babies so, I don't want to purchase the twin clothing from any store, that's why i decide to making the clothes on my own. So, could you tell me that how can i do it?
