My Favorite Christmas Books
For the past couple years I’ve been collecting books and each year I wrap them and we read one every night. (Now that I have five babies I won’t be wrapping each book but just have them pick one from our basket- but the idea is still the same) Each night the kids choose a book to read and we snuggle up as a family and enjoy reading that one book together. This truely brings the spirit of Christmas to our home, even if it’s a silly Christmas book. We start December 1 and go until the 23 and on Christmas Eve we read Luke 2. I leave them in our Christmas tote so that they are like new each year!
Here are some of my favorites I’ve read with them through the years and know you would love them too:
The Christmas Wish
The tale of the three trees (this special book is a must and is more focused on Christ)
Polar express
You are special
The oak inside the acorn
I believe in Santa Claus
The night before Christmas
Elf on the shelf
The giving manger (I love how this book comes with baby Jesus, his manger and straw. The idea is to do kind acts of service and place a straw in his manger until Christmas. My kids love it!
Santa comes to Utah (this author has one for each state and is specialized to where you live) We found ours at a party store called Zurchers.
Little favblue trucks Christmas
The nutcracker: a magic theatre book
The last straw
The crippled lamb
Olive the other reindeer
Ones on my list this year and recommended by my friends:
Are you grumpy Santa (this book seems very hard to come by.. any idea where I can find it?)
Snowmen at night
Snowmen at Christmas
Christmas Day in the morning
Christmas from heaven
The gift of the magi
Christmas Carol
Star Bright: A Christmas Story
The Little Match Girl
Why Christmas Trees Aren't Perfect
What are your favorite Christmas books? I’d love to hear yours and any other fun Christmas time traditions that you love!
Thanks for reading!
